Picinc Wedding Sketches from Ashley Brooke Designs

When I saw the pretty picnic wedding of Ashley from Ashley Brooke Designs on Elizabeth Anne Designs a couple of months ago, I instantly loved all of the sweet details Ashley designed. There was the cutest lemonade station and a big spread of food so guests could pack their own picnic boxes. Lawn games like croquet and stacks of heirloom quilts made the celebration both casual and elegant. Yesterday I was delighted to see these before and after sketches and photos Ashley shared on her blog showing how her vision came to life on her wedding day. Aren’t these fabulous?

I’ve said before that my favorite design tools are a roll of yellow trace paper and black felt tip markers and this is a perfect example of why – simply sketching out your ideas and envisioning the final result really will help it all come together. I loved reading about how Ashley’s team used the sketches when pulling everything together on her wedding day. The best way to articulate to your vendors what you’re looking for is to show them. Give them photos or snapshots, work with them to create inspiration boards or sketch out rough ideas to communicate what you’re thinking. Knowing what you want and making sure your team knows what you want will help ensure your vision comes to life beautifully.
