Party Time: Seattle Blogger Meet + Greet

Hello, it’s me, Jenny from Hank + Hunt. Let’s talk fete, shall we? Early this summer, our family moved back to the Seattle area. Of course, I was jumping up and down excited. And, of course, I had to tweet that kind of happiness. Turns out, Ms. Lyndsey of The Stationery Place was also moving this summer. Really?! Well, I just had to meet this lovely girl. So I did. Not only is she just flat out awesome and a marketing megaguru, she had a brilliant idea…let’s have a party and round up some of those fantastic creatives that blog in the Seattle area. And thus, a party was born.

When she asked if she knew of a venue to have this fabulous little party of ours, I immediately thought of Trophy Cupcakes and Party and their new party room. Nestled in the old Wallingford schoolhouse, across the hall from the original Trophy, is a gorgeous, white and bright space perfect for any kind of shower, fete or shindig. Trophy was there for us every step of the way, helping with planning, setup, access to their wide range of fully fluffed tissue poms and plethora of cake stands. The Trophy Party Room even has a team that will help you plan the party of your dreams. Now, you know I’m a planner and DIYer at heart, that’s ok too, Jennifer Shea, founder and owner of Trophy Cupcakes and Party, totally got me and helped me in every way I needed.

Lyndsey and I needed the party to be colorful, so I rounded up some inspiration on Pinterest for multicolored parties and gathered my best and brightest fabrics. I started with a pretty bright floral on kelly green and then modified a few colors by adding a range of shades. This helped tone down the palette and make it more modern.  We chose pink as the base and added the bright poms from there. Trophy provided all the pink poms and we added the accent colored ones, this was a tremendous help for us.

I wanted the meet and greet to have a kitchy feel and based the party tags on those cheesy “Hello, my name is…” name tags you can get at the office store. This way, we could also have them in our party palette with a cute font.

I also wanted to incorporate some geometrics into the design. I have been crushing on triangles for a while and decided to make garland and confetti. I made small confetti for the tables AND big ones for the floor. It looked awesome.  The confetti for the floor were the same triangles used for the garland, the bright colors really popped against the dark wood. I decorated an enormous pink balloon with the triangle garland by simply attaching a strand to the existing string. I was inspired to decorate the balloon by Geronimo Balloons, which I adore.  I also made a kelly green fringe garland and coordinating mini fringe for the cake stands {also provided by Trophy.} I decorated the top and bottom stands with more triangles in sets of three and attached everything with Glue Dots.

For sweets and treats, we had the best local goodies a girl could ask for. We noshed on delectable mini cupcakes from Trophy Cupcakes and Party in coordinating party colors. (They even made coral colored ones!) Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream sent us beyond heaven with their homemade all natural ice creams, in flavors like Cherry Chunk, Vivaci Coffee, Chocolate Raspberry, Ginger and Maple Walnut. You’ve never had anything like it – incredible! DRY Soda brought us every flavor of DRY to try. They are local to Seattle and offer an all natural, less sweet and beautifully clear soda made with pure cane sugar. Four ingredients, that’s it. Every flavor is amazing and a must try.  I wanted to cover both bases, cake girls and pie girls. High 5 Pie is simply the best [and impeccably branded] pie in town. They brought delicious little pie pops which were the perfect size to nibble on, no plates needed.

Lyndsey and I also sewed the little fabric goody bags from coordinating, but mismatched fabrics. And the goodies? Lyndsey snagged so much swag it almost didn’t fit. Seriously. Want one for yourself? I just happen to have a bag of treats for one lucky reader. Filled to the brim with goodies from Paper Culture, Yarnia, This Charming Candy, Rooster Blue, Pretty Little Lion, Estrella Soap, and a teeny little treat from me. Our attendees also were sent home with full sized floral cupcakes from Trophy. Sorry, I can’t mail the cupcake, it might have been consumed minutes after the party. But if you want to win the goody bag, leave a comment below by Tuesday, September 13th at 11:59pm EST. A winner will be announced next Wednesday morning, September 14th!

A huge thank you to Stephanie from Trophy for all of her hard work the day of this event and I also want to thank Lyndsey for being the best cohost ever! Finally, all of the gorgeous photos were taken by the amazing Adele Cabanillas of Abigail Reese Photography. She is the sweetest and most incredible photographer! (Adele also has a wedding website.) I can’t wait to work with her again! Seriously, if you are in the Seattle area, I can’t recommend a more amazing lady for your fete.

P.S. Don’t forget to go see the ALL NEW Hank + Hunt, I’m a dot com now (shameless personal plug!)

Hi Barret! The vase is actually from Pottery Barn about 3 years ago, it was originally brown, but I spray painted it gold. Thanks to Cyd, I am mildly addicted to gold paint!
