For those of you here in the States, here’s wishing you a great Memorial Day! It goes without saying that today is about so much more than barbecues and picnics, and I hope we all remember to take a moment to think about that at some point during the festivities today. As is our tradition, my mother and I spent yesterday planting flowers in honor of passed family, and as always, the cemeteries were studded with fluttering flags. It was nice to take a few minutes to remember the sacrifice that so many have made in defense of the stars and stripes. My brother is a veteran as were both of my grandfathers and I’ll be forever grateful that all of them made it home to their families. So today I salute those veterans who did not make it home and the families who are remembering them today. I’ll be back tomorrow with our regularly scheduled programming!
