The Sides Have It with These Over the Top Scalloped Sweet Potatoes

As a vegetarian I tend to love Thanksgiving sides best of all. Have you tried my vegetarian stuffing yet?! It’s insanely good. But these? These scalloped sweet potatoes are epic. They’re creamy and the right blend of salty and sweet from the mix of cheeses and sweet potatoes. Best part is, you can prep them the night before and just pop them into the oven when it’s time.

Celebrating the Season with a Friendsgiving Brunch

My love for entertaining comes from a deeply rooted passion for bringing people together in celebration and in love. It’s for that reason I love the Friendsgiving trend of recent years as a way to welcome the friends you love to your table and into your home. Today I’ve teamed up with Bed Bath & Beyond to inspire your own Friendsgiving feast, but with a slight twist. We’re ditching the turkey in lieu of brunch with a spread of food that will have you passing over your roaster pan in favor of the waffle maker. My hope is that you’ll spy something here (like perhaps my spinach and broccolini goat cheese quiche recipe) that will move you to send out a group text that says something along the lines of, “Hi, friends. Come on over. Let’s do brunch.”

Level Up Your Brunch Game with this Spinach Broccolini Goat Cheese Quiche

One of my favorite ways to host over the holiday season is with a brunch in lieu of a full dinner. We host pretty much weekly this time of year and if there is one thing I can promise you it’s that people love brunch! I made this spinach broccolini quiche loaded with goat cheese as part of the Friendsgiving brunch I created in collaboration with Bed Bath & Beyond and it’s not only delicious, but it’s also one of the prettiest things I’ve ever made.

12 Things I Might Make for Thanksgiving

Since moving into our house a couple years ago, my mom, Bob and I co-chair Thanksgiving every year, getting together weeks in advance to pour over the menu. The three of us are the head chefs in the family with our second oldest, Ethan, coming up the ranks as a cook in-training now that he’s studying culinary arts in high school. This year we’re playing with a slightly nontraditional menu with a few stand out sides and desserts. Wondering what we’re making? Here are 12 things I might make and stay tuned for some of the Thanksgiving recipes I’ve been playing with already!

Butternut Squash Goat Cheese Crostini

Friends, it’s Thanksgiving week and I am so excited! My sister and brother in-law fly home on Wednesday, which also happens to be our sweet baby girl’s first birthday. We’re hosting a huge Thanksgiving dinner for nearly 30 of our closest family and friends, and then on Saturday we’re hosting a birthday party for the …

12 Beautiful Modern Thanksgiving Decorations

Admittedly, I tend to be a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to Thanksgiving decorations. Not so much of the pilgrims and cornucopia variety, but more in the pumpkins, leaves and autumnal colors kind of way. Ok and even more honestly, we’re usually so busy cooking and baking and popping bottles of bubbly that crafting …

Homemade Holiday Stovetop Potpourri

An alternate title to this post would be something like, “How to make your house smell like the holidays!” And that would be totally, completely accurate. I believe my oldest stepson’s words were, verbatim, “Yum, it smells like Christmas in here!” Yes, bud, it does. You’ve probably heard of this concept before. Fill a pot …
