DIY No-Sew Pom Pom Pool + Picnic Blankets

If you’re a long time reader, you probably know that I don’t sew. It’s one of the few domestic skills I haven’t at least attempted to master, even though I always swear that I’m going to learn. (Technically I learned how to sew back in 8th grade home ec class and did quite well, but I haven’t sewed since!) For that reason I love a good no-sew project! When you tell me I can make something really cool and I don’t have to sew? I’m so into that life. Over the years I’ve learned a few tricks! Namely, that E6000 or Fabric Fusion will hold just about any fabrics together and that iron-on hem tape is my best friend! Today we’re putting some of my go-to hacks to work by making these super colorful and summery DIY no-sew picnic blankets! I’m also calling them pool blankets, because they’re as perfect for lounging by the pool as they would be for picnics, cozying up for fireworks at the park or snuggling up around a campfire.

Trick or Treat! You’ve Been Booed Halloween Printables

Last year was our first year living in our house and one day in October we came home from running errands to find out we had been booed! The idea behind being “booed” is that someone leaves a basket of goodies at your doorstep on the sly at some point during the Halloween season with a note letting you know you’ve been booed. You’re then supposed to pass along the fun by booing another family, all done anonymously. Today I’ve teamed up with HI-CHEW and the super talented Isabela of La Lu Isa to create these really happy and barely spooky Halloween printables so you can boo all your neighbors and officially be the coolest kid on the block! You can download them here, then just print on card stock and trim. Fashion together a basket or two loaded with your favorite HI-CHEW flavors (mine are mango and strawberry!) and a bunch of fun Halloween paraphernalia and you’ve got all the right moves.

10 DIY Cardboard Toys to Inspire Playtime

Baby E is three months old today, which honestly hardly seems possible. She’s hitting such a fun stage right now, learning to play and growing increasingly verbal. (She can’t stop won’t stop with the ridiculously cute cooing at the moment. So sweet!) At the moment she is currently sitting right next to me, hanging out …

DIY Painted Gold Leaf Ornaments

If you were to ask my mother she would tell you that she isn’t the least bit crafty and that she’s not sure where I get it from. That said, I always thought of my mom as crafty as a kid and remember fondly the times we’d gather around the kitchen table to craft ornaments for the tree each year. That’s probably why I am so partial to really gorgeous handmade ornaments! I made a whole bunch of these painted gold leaf ornaments (you know me and my love for all things gold leaf), which are perfect for decking the halls, giving as gifts or exchanging as part of an ornament swap. They’re made with inexpensive clear glass ornaments and they’re also just so darn pretty!
