Ok, friends, it’s confession time – I’ve never fully understood the craze over little felt birds serving as a cake topper. I just didn’t get it. However, after being tipped off on the colorful quirky creations of Lauren Alane by my lovely friend Carolynn of Two Brunettes, it’s all starting to make a bit more sense. If I’m honest, I’m not even entirely sure if it’s the birds I love or the fun offbeat photography of little felt birds in unexpected places, but I’m definitely loving Lauren’s website right now. Her husband takes all of the photographs of the birds and they have a Flickr page filled with photos that are sure to bring a smile to your face.

You know, I am so with you on this birds thing. As of late, they've really started to grow on me, and I'm kinda edging towards a, "Yeaaaaah, they are kinda cute!" Good finds (love the photography :)!)
