A Gus & Ruby Bridal Shower

Hello and happy Monday, everyone! I hope your week is off to a good start. This morning I have the great pleasure of sharing with you a beautiful bridal shower. It was planned by my lovely friend Samantha of Gus & Ruby Letterpress for her best friend and business partner Whitney. I just adore these two women and feel honored to be able to share this special celebration with you. It features the sweetest blush pink, peach and gold color scheme and is loaded with pretty romantic details. Samantha chose a “let’s feather her nest” theme and all of the decor, paper goods and treats followed suit – she even had fluffy white feathers for guests to wear in their hair!

The invitations were letterpress printed and mailed in peach opalescent envelopes with white ostrich feathers in the envelopes. All the guests were asked to wear an ostrich feather in their hair to “join the flock” when they arrived at the shower.

To keep with the “feathering her nest” theme, Sam chose all fluffy flowers and incorporated feather details throughout the shower. The hardest part? Keeping everything a secret from Whit! But I think you’ll agree, it was well worth the effort. I love this photo of Sam (left) and Whitney (right)…

Sam worked with Jennifer at Cookie Creatives by Jennifer to create one of the sweetest parts of the shower – the favors! At each place setting was a box containing a bird’s nest made from spun sugar with hand-painted sugar cookies in the shape of little eggs inside. The boxes were then tied with peach velvet ribbon and a sweet little tag. These favors are just so beautiful and by all accounts the cookies were delicious!
