I can’t think of a better way to start the week than by sharing Liz and Tom’s lovely wedding, which took place overlooking Lake Michigan and featured an abundance of personal, handmade details. They incorporated their love for traveling, food, music and Liz’s passion for sewing to craft a wedding that was a true reflection of their relationship. Tom proposed in Italy so they chose to have their ceremony at Villa Terrace and chose Lake Park Bistro, one of their favorite restaurants, to host the reception. Liz and her mom created nearly all of the design details and Liz’s mom even sewed a wedding quilt, which Liz and Tom included in their photos.
Liz and her mom started their DIY adventures by making clutches and necklaces for the bridesmaid, which soon evolved into bowties and ring pillows for the ring bearers, fabric table numbers placed in frames, bunting to hang in the tent for the reception, a sweet fabric banner for the head table, stitching details on the ceremony programs and escort cards, and the list goes on! They showcased a hilarious family heirloom cake topper and used an old card catalog to hold escort cards. They had parasols for guests, a homemade cookie buffet, and made a getaway in a rickshaw for a wedding loaded with personality.
A big congratulations to Liz and Tom and an even bigger thank you to Molly Michel of m three studio for sharing their beautiful wedding!
