Shopping Guide: Winter Beauty Favorites

I remember in my early days of blogging when a bunch of bride bloggers were sharing beauty favorites and I absolutely loved getting the inside scoop on what products everyone loved. I am usually a mascara and lip gloss kind of girl, but pasty winter skin has me mixing things up a little bit lately so I thought I’d share my personal winter beauty favorites of the moment. Mainly I’ve been playing around with the idea of a red lip (although I’m not quite ready to pull the trigger on a solid red lipstick so I am loving the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart) and playing a bit more with color on the eye. And blush! I have never worn blush, but it adds a nice hint of color when I’m paler in the winter months. If you’re using something and loving it, I’d love to hear about it!

Shop: 1. Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart / 2. NYX Cosmetics Slide On eyeliner pencils / 3. Urban Decay Naked2 eyeshadow palette / 4. Neutrogena Healthy Skin foundation / 5. Lancome Definicils mascara in deep black (this has been my go-to mascara for years) / 6. NARS blush in Orgasm

I've used #4 (the foundation) for quite a while and LOVE it.

Also I just bought Sonia Kashuk's creme blush in Petal for the first time and love it - I tend to like the liquid/creme-based blushes since my skin is on the normal-to-dry side. And being quite, quite pale as well, it adds a lot in winter months!

Ooo, Sara, that lemon lotion sounds amazing! I need to check it out. My "signature" fragrance is Fresh's Sugar Lemon and I go coocoo for a great citrus scent.

OOh fun :) I just got new Nars eyeshadow that I LOVE! My other favorite for winter is C.O. Bigelow lemon lotion, I keep a pot of it at my desk at work and it totally moisturizes my hands and smells heavenly!

I feel like I've been on the hunt for the right mascara ever since I started wearing the stuff in high school. Nothing is ever quite right! I have a HUGE problem with mascaras rubbing off and giving me raccoon eyes - generally not the look I'm going for :)

Does the Definicils stay put pretty well?

Hey Trish! The Definicils definitely stays put. I actually find it's more resistant than a lot of waterproof formulas. (They do make a waterproof formula, too, but you need a pretty tough makeup remover to get it off and I didn't like that.)
