Want a simple way to dress up plain party cups? It is easier than you think, no scissors involved! Take a bit of precut fringe and attach it to the top of your paper cups. This will add a bit of party to a usually boring regular. I am constantly looking for easy ways to incorporate party colors into everyday accessories. This is the perfect solution!
Supplies –
- paper cups (these are from Ikea)
- double stick tape
- fringe festooning
Run a strip of tape across the top of your party cups, about a quarter of an inch below the lip. Take your festooning and run the flat back side, pulling fringe forward with your fingertips and adhere to your cup. Start your seam at the paper cup seam. Press to stick and run the fringe around the cup. Trim or tear once you reach the other side and press closed. Fluff the fringe with your fingers and party on.
I think this might be one of the easiest DIYs ever, but the impact is huge. There is nothing wrong with using paper cups for your party, just recycle when you are done. This is a great way to spruce up the myriad of solid cups at the party store or even cool patterned cups you see in special party boutiques! Stripes with hot pink fringe, polka dots with deep blue or even a monochromatic lime green fringe on an emerald cup. I think these would be just as pretty in solid white. Fun with fringe, how could you say no to a beverage in this?
