A Very Happy New Year’s Eve Table

We’ll be gathering together with a group of our closest friends for a little combination belated Christmas/very merry New Year’s celebration this evening. I had been planning to litter the island in our kitchen with my collection of vintage milk glass and the many whiteware cake stands and footed compote bowls we received as wedding gifts with a spread of simple hors d’œuvre before we go out to eat and now this happy New Year’s Eve table has me firmly believing that white is definitely the way to go. Luckily for me, I have the afternoon to myself before the celebration begins so I am going to scurry around today and see if I can’t pull together a cute DIY “Happy New Year” sign like this one using the left over red ric rac from the newspaper bunting I made for my husband’s surprise party. How are you spending your day in preparation for the new year?
