Throughout October I’m going to be taking some time off and have invited a handful of my favorite bloggers to join us. Hello The Sweetest Occasions readers! My name is Kelly and I’m a lifestyle and weddings blogger, prop stylist, floral and event designer, and I’m based in beautiful Santa Barbara. I’m a big fan of a tasty cocktail any day of the week, and every Friday my associate editor Melissa, shakes up something tasty on my blog. This drink was inspired by the plum tree in Melissa’s backyard and my love of whiskey…enter the Honey Plum Smash!

Mix It Up:

• 1-1/2 shots of bourbon whiskey
• Lemon wedge
• 2 small fresh plums
• 1 tsp of honey
• Splash of Sprite

Muddle lemon wedge (to help extract oil from the rind) and plums in a flat-surfaced glass. Add honey, bourbon, and Sprite. Shake well and serve on the rocks.
