At long last it’s finally really feeling like the start to summer here this week and I have been loving the sunshine the last few days. Has anyone else had a spring that has been endlessly rainy and chilly? All of this to say, I have about zero plans this weekend that don’t revolve around spending some time outside, most likely working in the yard and planting some herbs. In the meantime I rounded up a few of the things that caught my eye this week!
DIY ideas
Inspired by Father’s Day and the cute graphic aprons I made over the holidays (which in turn were inspired by Kelly’s cool DIY graphic tees), today we’re making these super fun DIY Father’s Day shirts! Featuring your personal favorite daddy-inspired pun or phrase, you can make these shirts quickly and inexpensively. They’re so easy to make, in fact, that you could easily make a whole bunch for all the fathers in your life that you want to salute, from your own dad to your husband to your brother.
Rumor has it that spring is just a couple of weeks out, although truth is we typically don’t see real spring until at least April here in our neck of the woods in the northeast. Even though it has been about 15° every day so far this week (actually not an exaggeration), I am definitely starting to get that spring itch. The one where I want to throw open the windows, scrub every last inch of the house, spend an afternoon arranging plants in little pots, painting a room a fresh new color, changing out all the linens and generally just freshening things up. Basically, I’ve got spring fever.
By now I’ve preached time and again about how my favorite kind of Halloween decorations are those that are slightly spooky, dark and a bit glam in a goth kind of way. I think a few touches of something slightly off, a mix of metallics and lots of black can really set the scene without …

I’m sharing today’s DIY project (actually an oldie but a goodie from way back in 2013), because it’s officially fall, which means in our house I’m about to go into candle burning mode in high gear. A few years ago I started making my own candles after dragging my feet for so long, convinced it …
Ready or not, fall is coming! With Labor Day crossed off the calendar and the start of school in our area this week, we are officially in a losing battle with summer. The mornings and evenings are just ever so crisp around the edges now, but the days are still sunny and hot. Mornings are …
I am precisely 100% sure I want nothing more these days than to spend them lounging on the beach. As in, every day. All day long. I have a case of summer vacation that is strong and real right now, friends. No joke. For some reason this year I am feeling really nostalgic about the summers …

Baby E is three months old today, which honestly hardly seems possible. She’s hitting such a fun stage right now, learning to play and growing increasingly verbal. (She can’t stop won’t stop with the ridiculously cute cooing at the moment. So sweet!) At the moment she is currently sitting right next to me, hanging out …
