A couple of weeks ago I hinted at a little project I was working on with Ami of Elizabeth Anne Designs involving a pretty peach color palette. Today I am excited to share the results with you! Because Ami and I were both going to be in New York City at the same time for the National Stationery Show, we thought we’d take advantage and pull together an inspiration shoot. (We’re asking talented wedding pros to do it for our upcoming Inspired Creations Contest so why not get in on the action ourselves, right?) When coming up with the concept and design for the shoot, we thought pretty hard about what weddings mean to both of us and how we’d like to team up to inspire brides. As good friends who don’t see each other often enough, the idea of celebrating the relationship between a bride and her bridesmaids kept coming to mind. From there we pulled together a team of immensely talented women to help us make our vision a reality.
With that special friendship as our inspiration, we created a bridal suite set up that we envision as a beautiful space for a bride and her closest ladies before the ceremony. Beautifully wrapped gifts boasting pretty calligraphy tags, satin-covered memo boards featuring photos and mementos, a spread of sweets, treats, and champagne spritzers, and, of course, a blushing bride.
We were inspired by the fresh pretty colors of spring and summer and focused on soft romantic hues of peach and blush pink with little hints of soft dove gray throughout. We love the final look – it’s beautiful yet completely approachable and achievable for all brides – no intricate DIY nor big budget required.
Most importantly, we’re hoping it inspires brides to find a sweet way of taking a moment or two to stop and smell the roses on their wedding day by embracing the friends and family dearest to them as they prepare to celebrate the start of their new life and the making of their new family.
The incredibly sweet Lanie, visionary and proprietress behind Lovely Bridal Shop, allowed us to invade her space and play dress up with all of her gorgeous gowns. Our amazingly beautiful bride is none other than our friend Jackie of Merci NYC with floral design by Poppies & Posies and absolutely stunning photos by Missy Photography.
I am still completely in love with the gorgeous flowers the Sierra and Juliet created for us, an incredibly romantic pairing of fluffy pink peonies, sprigs of mint and charming green poppy pods. Ami decoupaged gift boxes with gorgeous floral paper, which we paired with letterpress gift tags from Smock featuring calligraphy from my dear friend Debi Zeinert of The Blooming Quill. We pulled together an assortment of sweets and treats, croissants, scones, muffins and macarons and finished it all off with a pretty letterpress thank you card from Two Brunettes. The gorgeous garter was created especially for us by the sweetest lady in the whole wide world, The Garter Girl by Julianne Smith and my friend Lisa of Anderson Green Events was a doll and offered lots of coordination support to two out of town girls planning a photo shoot from afar. We had so much fun working on this with all of you – thank you so much for everything!
